Vintage 1940s jet black cocktail dinner dress ~ circa early 1940 ~ jewel neckline w/ ribbed key hole design that runs from shoulder to shoulder and cut in a sweet heart design ~ short cap sleeves ~ bodice w/ bust darts front and back ~ skirt has deep pleats that run small, medium to large ~ skirt flares across the bottom ~ back has 5 vertical panels that run from the waist to hem ~ 2 metal zippers (one at the side and second at the back of the neck ~ twisted thread belt loops (no belt)- Bust: measures 42" across under arm to under arm
- Waist: measures 32" across
- Sleeves: 11"
- Dress length: 41.5" w/ a 2" seam allowance
- Key hole design: each strip 1.4" wide (double fabric) ~ center strip 4.5" then runs to 3.5" and 2" at the shoulder each side
- Notes: material is most likely rayon crepe ~ skirt flares across the bottom 36" ~ metal zippers are left side @ 10" and back of neck @ 6" ~ skirt horizontal pleats run 2.4" to 3.4" to 3 3/4" to 8" at the bottom
- Condition: very good wearable ~ no rips, tears, fabric is in very good condition ~ there are 3 pin holes at the very top of the right shoulder, they are difficult to detect as the seam work under neath hides them very well ~ they do need to be repaired
