Black & rose pink over sized wide brim hat with pink ostrich feather, fabric flowers and a large jet glass decoration ~ Vintage Titanic era from 1910 up to the 1920s ~ tall crown is pleated or stacked ~ under side of brim is a dark pink velvet ~ black velvet ribbon hat band run around the hat and extends in a single end at the front under the jet accent and off to the side ~ the bottom of the velvet ribbon band has a twisted chenille cording ~ long pink ostrich feathers extend out form both sides of the hat (left side feather has pink to black shading and a thinner style of feather) ~ There is a spray of tiny fabric flowers on left side just under the two tone feather ~ large faceted jet glass decoration adorns the center of all this ~ lined inside in a draw string black fabric- Measures inside: 22 1/4" circumference
- Brim: 3 3/4" at front and side x 3.5" wide at the back
- Crown: 4" tall crown with a flat top (6 1/4" side to side x 7" front to back)
- Hat band: chenille cord 3/8" wide ~ velvet ribbon hat band 2" wide
- Flowers: runs about 5" around ~ flocked fabric in a dark pink w/ dark green leaves (apple blossoms?)
- Feathers: approximately 11" on the full ostrich and 9.5" long on the two tone feather
- Jet decoration: 4" long x 1 3/4" wide ~ tube and round beads w/ octagon jet and domed jet beads ~ all are faceted and strung together w/ wire
- Condition: very good to excellent condition wearable condition ~ nap loss at the top of the crown edge and some along the brim edge ~ minor color loss to the pink under side ~ this has darken to almost a deep rose color ~ as of this posting the draw string lining has started to rip at the back side ~ there is evidence of the lining stitches or maybe old repairs ~ very minor spots under side of brim ~ one of the round dome shaped jet beads is not as tall as the other three ( most likely this way from the time the hat was new)
